If you could take off a minute or two from your mile run or 10-mile bike ride, would you do it? If you knew a way to stop the muscle pain after working out, would you do it?
If you hang out with elite athletes, you would find out that one of the most important things they have to do to stay in the top athletes category is pay attention to their nutrition and their vitamin deficiency symptoms. They can’t afford a vitamin deficiency to take them down.
The process of muscle contraction requires many vitamins and minerals. Did you know that calcium helps with contraction while magnesium helps with relaxation? After you work out, if you find your muscles are contracting or twitching, it could be the result of a calcium or magnesium deficiency.
In order for your muscles to grow, they have to have all the nutrients they need. If you’re lacking any nutrients essential for muscle growth, you could end up with symptoms such as muscle pain, muscle weakness, muscle twitches, easy bruising, joint pain, low energy, fatigue and muscle tension. Primary nutrients for you to have ideal weight gain from muscle mass include antioxidant vitamins.
Take the Multivitamin Supplements Challenge
In fact, take a little experiment yourself. Go to the gym and work out your hardest. Then record the following:
• How did you feel after the workout?
• How many reps did you do for each exercise?
• How much weight did you lift for each rep?
• When did the muscle pain and soreness start?
• How long did it last?
Don’t work out until all the muscle soreness is gone. Then go back to the health club and do the same exact workout. This time after the workout, take a minimum of 1000 mg vitamin C. If you’re already taking vitamin C as one of your multivitamin supplements for workouts, increase it by a factor of 4. Take your vitamin C for three days. Then see what happens to your results.
Do one more little experiment and this time take a complete multivitamin supplement as a regimen of pre workout vitamins. Do the exact same workout and again note your results. You may find that your best results for workouts to prevent low energy, fatigue, muscle pain and joint pain while increasing muscle mass weight gain, are a combination of more vitamin C with a multivitamin.
Vitamin C is only one of many nutrients that can prevent muscle soreness. And that’s always a good thing because the less muscle soreness you have, the more workouts you can get in. And the more workouts you can get in, the more your muscles have the chance to grow.
